With Kwat regaining his DC duties, why not this guy to take over OLBs?

    Probably not but Kwat will be there to help him out with OLBs. He's an elite recruiter and if we're going to compete with Oregon and USC in the next few years on the recruiting trail we're going to need guys like him.

    This is all talk though, UW would never bring him back.
    True, it's a pipe dream. But he did hold his own as the OLB coach on a national championship Bama team so there's that.

    Lupoi brought Shaq Thompson to UW. Anyone else?

    I know he has been a great recruiter at other stops, but he didn't stem the generally stagnant to downward trend in recruiting under Sark.

    The problem with caring so much about coaches that recruit is that the players go to school by tiers. The ones offered by the blue bloods go there. We are a step below. A great recruiter at Oregon State isn’t beating UW for a recruit they both really want, just like UW normally loses to USC. Not always, but that’s generally the case which is why hiring the best coaches is more important than recruiters.
    Tosh had a bigger impact on recruiting classes at Cal than he did at UW.

    Mathis and Qualls were both good players, but the blue bloods weren't bothering with them because neither were sure things to pass admissions. Farria... same. Vatuvei, iirc, was a questionable kid who got a quick boot.

    Groundwork for Vita? He was not an elite recruit according to rankings or offers.

    Tosh delivered a coffee cup of cash to a kid who was never, ever going to qualify and got caught for it. Fuck that guy.
    Tosh is a Photoshop master. Transcripts and test scores? Voila!
