Vita did nothing noteworthy in 2015. He barely did in 16Gianes, Baker, and Adams didId say Turner and Williams will be solid players but they are taking their lumps
Tuli and Taki still look like they will be monsters in the coming years. Almost all of our great DTs have taken a few years to develop.
I think what Tuli is doing is pretty comparable time what Gaines did in his redshirt freshman year. Tuli probably has the higher ceiling. Guys like Tuli and Vea are multi year investments because they are so out of shape. It can’t be done in a year. Tuli still does well because he’s so strong, but I bet if you watched him every play, there are plays where his effort is shit because he’s tired and it’s hard for a guy that big to always play hard.
Vita and Gaines held that Alabama team to a standstill for much of the game. They covered up much of the weaknesses until the team was eventually Overwhelmed. People forget that. If we had depth plus the talent like that imagine ...Vita and Gaines plus rotating tuli and taki plus bandes and faatui etc ... Peterman get your shit together!
Young guys that Grundle should feel good about in regards to the next few years to match up to 2015:Sophomores - Bynum is really coming on the last two weeks- Otton is a stud - Kirkland mauls people- Tryon needs to be better but has had some flashes, I think he’s still learning football- Ngata needs to be better but has looked good when he plays inside- Bain still is unknown but he reminds me of Tryon, athleticism jumps off the screen but is learningRS Freshman- Dick is a fucking man- Spiker has had nice catches when he gets snaps- Ozzy, not willing to write him off because every writer said he was dominating camp, he just hasn’t gotten any balls thrown his way- Mele has taken over for Harris twice with zero snap issues or coverage breakdowns- Tuli has been a monster pushing people into the QB and just needs consistency and growth - Taki hasn’t looked as good as Tuli, but has held his own as a freshman- ZTF has played well in limited time and has great outside size- Kyler has taken his lumps but has had some great plays as wellTrue Freahman- Puka is the best WR on the roster- McDuffie has been lights out as a starting CB- Fautanu looked amazing in camp before getting hurt- Latu has looked great when he plays- Tuitele looked good in his few exhibition games- Turner has looked incredible - Calvert by all accounts was going to get a lot of run this year before he got hurtThere is a lot of talent in the young guys, which is why everyone has been clamoring for them to play over vets who have struggled. Edit: fuck you and your 30 seconds @Houhusky Seems we were thinking identical thoughts.
I don’t think either will be a star, but I wouldn’t write off Cam Williams or Kyler Gordon. By their junior and senior years they could be pretty good starters. They also could get passed up. Williams doesn’t even play anymore. If he can even get to being above average, his balls skills and playmaking ability will push him into the good to very good range.
I appreciate the optimism @Houhusky & @DoogCourics . But you're mentioning a lot of guys who either haven't even played or only limited.

But you're mentioning a lot of guys who either haven't even played or only limited. If you are DQing guys who played last year doesn’t it really have anything to do with actual young talent (Tm) on the roster. They are still young and talented. You’ve basically only limited the pool to young players (Fr-So?), that didn’t start in previous years, that have played significant time this year. (Do puka or newton count?) Chopping off the top and bottom bounds of playing time is obviously going to yield a small number. How many guys fit in your starting parameters on the roster regardless of being talented? 5?

Talk about a guy who looked all world lining up against our WRs in camp. That don't translate to IRL.
A lot of dooging going on here
A lot of dooging going on here A Doog is a Husky that acts like a Cuog. We all agree that we suck and have no one to blame but ourselves. Thinking we have some talent in the Freshman and RS Freshman classes isn't Dooging.

What makes you think that will change???
