Ok Bob, I'll spoonfeed you. Read this quote.SFGbob said:
Go ahead dumbfuck, quote the part that supports paying for an individual's healthcare. Tell us how paying for Grandma's hip replacement provided for the "General Welfare" of everyone. There's nothing in what you cut and pasted that supports your fucking stupidity.2001400ex said:
Read the founders comments. If you don't think health Care could be included in the term "general welfare" as prescribed by the founders comments, that I linked, then you are dumber than I thought.SFGbob said:Notice how Hondo has nothing on this topic other than his cut and paste response that doesn't even support his position.
Thomas Jefferson asserted that “[T]he laying of taxes is the power, and the general welfare the purpose for which the power is to be exercised. They [Congress] are not to lay taxes ad libitum for any purpose they please; but only to pay the debts or provide for the welfare of the Union. In like manner, they are not to do anything they please to provide for the general welfare, but only to lay taxes for that purpose.”[14][15]
So the government has the power to tax people to pay for the general welfare. Unlike the bullshit Race and you are saying, the Constitution doesn't mandate that they pay for medical. But the government is allowed to tax to pay for the welfare of the people. And medical would be counted in that. And the supreme Court agrees.
Serious question Bob. Are you this dumb or are you arguing just to argue? -
Pure bullshit. Why did it take over 150 years before the government started paying for people who'd weren't veteran's, healthcare?2001400ex said:

Paying for Grandma's hip replacement doesn't provide for the welfare of the Union. It took a 150 years because the Constitutional Authority didn't exist and the Courts routinely struck down attempts to pay for the "welfare" of individuals. If that authority was always there, then why did the Court continue to reject that claim until the 1930s?

You're not making any argument Hondo. Your making claims that are totally unsupported by what you're cutting and pasting. You're not arguing, your emoting and displaying your fucking stupidity.2001400ex said:

Why did it take 150 years to ban fully automatic weapons? Why did it take 150 years to put in regulations on banks? I could go on for days on actions that happened 150 years into the country. That's not an argument. Idiot.SFGbob said:

Unlike fully automatic weapons, there were parasites like you Hondo at the time of our founding that believed government should take care of them. Thankfully there were far fewer of those people then, than there are today. When the Federal Courts were faced with the lawsuits of parasites clamoring for the government to take care of them, for over 150 years the Court rejected their arguments, because the Constitution didn't allow for that kind of spending. "General Welfare" was never understood to provide for an individual's welfare, as even the cut and paste responses you posted clearly states.
