Haener, gone.

Skinny the starter. Two adequate back ups that can get some reps during UH and EWU games.

Extra scholly if he needs it.

All of this accomplished before game week.

Win.Win.Win.Win

Don't really feel a down side.

Used the “position battle” expertly to motivate Eason.

Had he announced Skinny as the starter in the spring (thereby not missing all the valuable reps both then and in fall camp) like Alpha Coaches and Programs do, Haener would have left, but Yankoff would still be here.

I was agreeing with you. Classic asshole winner coach move. I think Pete intended all along to play Eason. Just wanted him to sweat a little and EARN it.

Why do people still want Yankoff? He couldn't throw. He was essentially another Lindquist.
I read a few places that Yankoff was one of the most athletic guys on our team, even if his accuracy was bad.

I could see Chip molding him into a good dual-threat QB.
