“Oregon will need players to step up. The two Johnsons and Redd have the feel of the opening day starting group at this point. That trio will really need to take ownership of this group. As stated above, all three are experienced players. But to me, it's the other four that will really make or break the way the season opens. Bryan Addison and Josh Delgado have been pushing for first-team reps all camp, but Isaah Crocker and JJ Tucker have yet to take first or second team reps when media has watched, and have appeared to be behind several walk-ons at times during camp. Can Oregon get anything from them?
One even wonders if the Ducks will experiment with a player like Sean Dollars in the slot. The running back has been said to possess quality receiving instincts. Even a player like Daewood Davis, who began his career at wide receiver before moving to defensive back, feels like someone capable of moving back to offense in a pinch if needed”
To be fair, Johnny Johnson, Breeland/Redd, and Juwan Johnson have worked with the ones the entirety of camp. Pittman has worked with the twos all camp. Bryan Addison had also worked with the twos the entirety of camp. Waters and Wilhoite were never on pace to do anything but redshirt. This elevates Delgado and Tucker.
This absolutely hurts depth but the flip side is we get everyone back midway.
