    I lobbied him for a decade and he has never been the brightest bulb nor thought of as a particularly good and dynamic leader. It has only gotten worse with his age. Seriously, the guy needs to just go tend to his fucked up family and put this exhausting Presidential race behind him. He is going to wilt over the next 16 months and it will really tarnish any positive image he has left. I actually hate to watch it because in person he is a guy you could have a good time with and throw back 3 or 4 beers together.

    I met him in Iowa in 1987 before he dropped out of the race. He was actually very personable and seemed like a bullshitter that would have been fun to have a beer with. He didn't come off as particularly serious guy but that probably had more to do with the casual setting. But for his plagiarism he would have had a very good shot at winning the nomination that cycle. Rats were so fucking lost after 8 years of Reagan they nominated Dukakis.
