Predicting top 10 college football offensive lines in 2019
No. 2 Oregon Ducks
“It was huge when Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert decided to forego the 2019 NFL Draft for another season of college football. But perhaps just as important is the return of the entire Oregon starting offensive line. Left tackle Penei Sewell (sophomore), left guard Shane Lemieux (senior), center Jake Hanson (senior), right guard Dallas Warmack (senior) and right tackle Calvin Throckmorton (senior) will man the line in front of Herbert for the second straight year. The continuity up front is rare, as Lemieux, Hanson, and Throckmorton are entering their fourth seasons in starting roles for the Ducks. The group did a decent job protecting Herbert last season (22 sacks allowed), but the running game (54th nationally in yards per game) could stand to improve. With the level of experience returning, it would not be a surprise to see that happen.
Next year will just have Sewell back but going into 2020 the line will ranked higher out of HS than this years.
I should have said “could be” depending on if a 3 star beats out one of our 4 stars. Let the chips fall where they may. We will have a good line in 2020 in any event.
He's not as athletic as those guys were in high school. He's stiff and his mobility sucks. He's ass. Not all 3-stars are created equal moron. Hope Oregon gets him.
But hey, kudos to Washington and their recruiters. In the 2011 class.they DID offer a scholarship to Derrick Brown and he signed on and the rest is history as they say.
