Step 4. Get Banks and Will Latu and have them recruit Savell
Step 5. Get Hector, maybe DJ if we’re feeling frisky, then fill in any holes and go after transfer portal guys
Step 6. Show up to Jordan Botelho’s door with Justin Tuitele, a printed list of this current class, a fired Bob Gregory, BBK film vs his HS recruiting ranking & a bag full of cloth like paper that looks green but up close is actually black and white.
Step 7. Sign Savell who has been humbled a lil by this experience. Have him get started with Will Latu on building the 2021 class
"We fired that coach that couldn't get you to come here! Now, let's show you how that coached we just fired developed this other kid."
Worked with Puka.
There's no way in hell we pimped Matt Lubick's development of anyone to Puka, GTFO.
The reality is that UW is at a point where we can pretty much expect Top 10-15 classes
I think the big question is can we ramp up to the Top 5 range starting with the 2021 class
I don’t think we can. If we could, shouldn’t it happen this year? USC a mess, UCLA 3 wins, Flowe friends with Davises, Ringo from here at our best-developed position, Bijan at a HS we have tradition with and no strong incumbent, Botelho “in the bag” with our strong Poly movement, etc.
All misses.
Next year we have three in state five stars versus one this year. One of them is already committed, one is rumored to be a silent commit, and the other is Egbuka who I’m way more confident in at this point than I was Smalls at the same point.
Then you have Troy Franklin, Kingsley, Keith Brown and Molokai for our in state elite talents who we are the current front runners for (we won’t get them all but won’t whiff on them all either)
Then you add Latu, Prentice, Simon, whichever other in state wr we decide we want with Egbuka (Lonyatta, maybe), and Ethan Calvert and you’re at or over ten blue chip commits without Lake taking anybody, and Huff and Milloe at only one commit each. And we haven’t even mentioned Korey Foreman who is throwing up dubs with Myles Murao.
Tl; dr: We should get two five stars at the very least, anything below three would be a huge disappointment and five wouldn’t be a shock. And we have the inside track in a number of high four stars.
We are getting a top 5 class next year, even is SC hires Urbs.
GATSSYN.
Yeah we were all dooging this winter over our connections to Flowe, Ringo etc but the reality is that no matter the connections and advantages we will always be a big underdog to land any given out of state 5*/high 4*.
In state is a different matter. Some kids will want to leave but there will be some kids that will be near locks like Huard and JTT.
We say this every year but the stars really are aligning for 2021.

I don’t think we can overlook the impact of having a five star QB committed so early either. Elite kids more and more are joining up with each other. We have one of the elite elites already (and JTT should give us two before the 2020 class even wraps up).
Even when we thought we’d be getting Smalls (has still coming here) and Ringo I don’t think anyone was projecting them to commit early.
Also the demographics play out more in our favor next year than they did this year - there are significantly more big time Poly recruits out west next year than this. And we won’t (shouldn’t) be taking any two star specialists, let alone two of them next year.
If we don’t ace 2021 something went drastically wrong.
SC is in "Bruins in Ruins" or "James quits on his team" phase. The molestation case and the admissions criminal scandal have their Board of Trustees staring down the barrel of 250mm+ in legal settlements. The water polo coach is going to prison. The basketball program is caught up in the FBI scandal, and it's awaiting penalties from the NCAA. All under St Hayden's (Bless his Heart) and Mike Garrett's watch. The probability of SC hiring Urban Meyer, a coach who sheltered Aaron Hernandez and a spouse beating (allegedly) coach on his staff, is low.
Prayingdoog.jpg that SC' hires their Ty to "restore morality to the program".
Ty only gets offered jobs to the most downtrodden programs.
SC's best bet is a clean cut NFL retread like Jack Del Rio.
That or they will try to poach someone like Jimmy Lake.
DB (4): You guys are sleeping on Trey Paster. He's really fucking talented. Like Dom Hampton talented. He's a take for me no matter what. I believe we have our two safeties already committed in Covington and Esteen. That leaves two spots at corner. I want Hector and Paster and I think we'll get them.
OLB (2): Yes Smalls and Banks, but don't think Jaden Navarrette won't have a wondering eye when Oregon goes 7-5 including an ass whooping by UW in Seattle. He's still on the board. We need to get two out of those three.
WR (2): Odunze or Gee and Bryant or LV. One more outside guy and one slot guy. Odunze and LV seem the most likely right now.
TE (0-1): Kole Taylor or DJ Rogers. Nobody else. Taylor hasn't committed anywhere else yet so I still have some hope. Maybe we got back in it and now he's pushing his commitment back?
DL (0-1): Xavier Carlton. If they take a D-lineman, he's probably the guy. We'd be fine without any in this class.
OL(1-2): Hatchett and maybe a sleeper with big upside.

Completely with you on Paster, I really like the dude.
Navarette is not comoing here.
Agree Odunze and LV seem the most likely at WR.
Rogers is going to take the last TE spot.
I'm guessing no DL but Carlton could happen.
OL - Marcus. Henderson. I know it's probably not gonna happen but he'd take this OL class from "best UW OL class since the South Kitsap boys and Kreutz" to "best UW OL class of all time. I don't think there's room but it's fun to dream.
SAC, I like the list but it misses the point. Not guys I *want*, it’s guys we need for me to be happy with the class. If we got all the guys I listed and all the guys you listed except no Banks or Navarette, just Smalls, you aren’t happy with the class? I’d guess you would be.
But if we miss even one guy on my list, it’s not good enough. Sad panda.

I would really like Carlton. I know we don't need DL this class, but since Malloe doesn't have to spread his focus too much this year, he should do everything he can to get Carlton.
