Just got what I think is a pretty cool watch. Hermes H08. But wait, Hermes? I thought they made ladies handbags! Turns out in addition to being the worlds preeminent handbag maker and luxury lifestyle brand, they have started making watches. Well, they have made watches for ages, but they started taking it very seriously in the last couple years. They bought a small high end horology movement and dial maker, designed their first men's watch from scratch with in house vertical manufacture, and released it a few months ago. Sold out instantly. Crazy eh?
I never would have though I'd buy a Hermes watch, but a display case back, full in house movement, titanium deployant clasp, thin case profile, aggressive styling and 100m WR, all for less than 6 grand? Yep, I can see why it's popular.

Do you ever accidentally call your watch a Herpes? That is a massive departure from the Rolex style stuff. I'm gonna pull a Swaye and announce I'm on a wait list. Hoping 2-3 months and I can show off my pride and joy, but refuse to accept things as reality until it's on my wrist.
