Last RB we had named Brandon is now in jail, just sayin.
I think we can agree that Brandons, as a whole, haven’t fared too well in world sports history. As you’ve shown they also have a high propensity for crime.
Recruiting Texas is a necessary strategy for UW going forward
It should never be viewed as s primary source but it will be needed to get 3-5 guys per year at its peak
Why? Havent we had success (for literal decades) by owning Washington, hitting California hard with a constant presence in Hawaii? Supplemented with the occasional mountain state prospect? Why is this formula no longer functional?

The demographics and participation levels in West Coast football may very well present challenges
On top of that there are certain positions that may be more difficult in terms of player quantities on the West Coast
Being able to recruit successfully in Texas to some degree will continue to open up doors and opportunities to maintain elite level classes when there are down years at positions in the more traditional recruiting grounds

Sounds great in theory but we had the same theoretical discussion 5 years ago. Since then we've signed 4 guys total out of Texas. Its been a waste of fucking time.
If we need Texas then we need to go all out not this half assed tossing out of offers to kids we've barely talked to and that have 10 other offers anyway. Hire coaches with actual local recruiting ties. At least one for Houston area and at least one for Dallas area.

National recruiting powers are hitting UW's recruiting area harder than ever. Just off the top of my head, here are some schools we've gone against recently for west coast, often Washington, recruits:
Alabama LSU Florida Georgia Florida State Miami Clemson Notre Dame Pedo St Michigan tOSU Oklahoma Texas TAMU
That's in addition to Oregon gaining unprecedented pull and the LA schools still being the hometown favorites for the bulk of west coast talent.
UW can sit on its hands or get proactive. Theres only so much elite talent within the traditional footprint and the competition for it is at an all time high. It's not going to lessen.
We will never beat Texas, A&M, Oklahomo, LSU or any other worth a shit southwest program for recruits. Furthermore we are never going to build any meaningful relationship with HS programs in TX. The truth is to a Texan this place is shit and we are all fags. One of the reasons I love Husky football is because we have always had great success with local/ regional kids. I enjoy rooting for kids from WA and CA. I dont give a fuck about Texas and the feeling is mutual.
I’ve heard West Coast schools will be hard pressed to win a Natty vs the SEC schools because of the abundance of recruiting talent in the South
Then I hear that UW recruiting in the South is a waste of time and there’s plenty of West Coast talent to win a Natty
Which one is it?
I for one have never taken the stance of recruiting the souwf... only the stance of a west coast kid hating his life if he’s fast strategy and goes to a southern school.

I like him.
Let's recruit Dagestan.
At least they can wrestle. And the costs of recruiting will blow their budget ....

#4-7 in WA have not been offered in ‘21

The tExASS offers will probably be cooled on when they get to know the kids and realize their fast strategy exceeds petermans maximum allowed amount.
So yea, great use of time and resources.

There is enough talent without TX to compete for nattys.
