Imagine hating a little Black Asian kid from Cypress California getting the highest civilian honor. Earl was a combat vet and the military and the country were important in the Woods household.

My initial reaction: Tiger getting this award is a joke.

Turns out the award was already a joke.

It's a blackeye for 'Merica, IMO.

Tiger played GOLF while INJURED and then he DIDN'T and then he came BACK and played AGAIN.

I mean it's a joke but honestly doing what he did with his ethnic background in the golf world has to make him more worthy than Palmer, Nicklaus, Ellen and Michaels.

I looked up the dozens and dozens of winners and am now mystified why its all of a sudden a joke to receive the highest civilian honor.

I imagine even the cynical losers here would be quite thrilled for a White House visit and this award regardless of who the occupant was, even though the odds of that happening are more remote than Uranus.

Numerous sporting men and women have received the award along with men and women from all walks of life including Presidents

You want to bash Trump that's fine. If your'e just here to bash Tiger Woods you won't last long.

Is this the thread where I talk about how cool it was when Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize?

All we've learned from this thread is that Paul Krugman is much older than anyone thought.
