Sikma is way before my time. Can someone explain how he's a HOF player? His stats look pretty solid, but nothing about him screams generational player.

The Sonics didn't have a best player. It was that miid 70's era of the TEAM. The Warriors, Blazers, Bullets, and Sonics won titles with team play. Rick Barry, Bill Walton, and Elvin Hayes were super stars. The Sonics didn't really have one. Sikma was considered the piece that made them champs but they had two Johnsons, The Wiz, and great chemistry
Speaking of Elvin Hayes my dad told me a story about him.
The team was touring and playing Chinese teams in the 70s. He refused to get off the team bus to see the Great Wall of China. Instead he just sat in the team bus for 3 hours.
