    Oil is now abundant. Markets change. Previously profitable plants falling into disrepair happens everywhere. Currently, at these prices, Coal cannot justify New capital investment, so it stays in the ground until it makes sense to extract it.

    It’s hard.

    Coal's been on it's way out for a decade due to all the things you mention above, but that didn't stop Cheetoh from pimping it as the next great thing in 2017, 2018 and 2019.

    This is a factually correct statement... Coal is 30% of our current electrical production. That’s important. Also important is that when looking to reduce electrical output, all factors should be seriously considered.
