#1 Stevie WonderStevie Wonder was my gateway into 70s soul and funk. My dad’s record collection was weak on funk, but he did have all the Stevie LPs which I inherited

#1 Stevie WonderThis one is crystal clear.

#1 Stevie WonderI think KatG is getting robbed with an 8 seed.
They had two different eras of greatness. The early Jungle Boogie/Summer Madness era and then later they had more pop success with Ladies Night, Celebration and my personal favorite Get Down on it, which is a fucking BANGER.
Yes, they got a little soft later with Fresh and shit... but I do want to encourage anyone who cares to listen to the lyrics of Joanna. It's the most nonsensically lazy lyric writing I think I've ever heard. That song was like 'uh, here's some words that I thought when I was first singing this song, why change them to real lyrics?'
"So, I, try my best - to do what's right. Take her for a ride, everything's fine."
But KatG is fucking epic.
That said, Stevie's run from '69-'76 is the only thing John Lennon said topped the Beatles. I'm not sure if I agree, but he's one of those guys who has talent for music that is on the highest level and chops like fucking crazy...
This is insane:
