I loathe every position she has on everything, but you would have to be an idiot to see that she isn't going to be a real issue going forward. She is telegenic, and the MSM LOVES her. And the DNC feels it because she has provided cover, in conjunction with the media, for everyone to lurch left. It is brilliant, even if I hate it. It's funny, she received just shy of 16,000 votes, in a New York precinct. That means, in essence, less than 16,000 New Yorkers are now driving the national political convo. Crazy. She is basically an invented politician, elected by statistically nobody, and she is driving the national debate on Green Deals and Medicare for all and wealth redistribution. First, if AOC gets her way on the 70%, do you really think it'll be only earned income and would exclude realized investment income? How cute.
Second, while the explosion of TV revenues and great collective bargaining skills against a weak Union have allowed NFL franchises to actually turn a profit. The majority of the owners don't make a sizable profit from the franchise. Their money is made in their bread and butter, whatever it is that made them wealthy.
I do agree that most politicians, journalists, and our society don't understand the tax code.

The media fuels it and drives it by giving her and others (Bernie, Warren) an open platform to spew nonsense without calling them out on it. Its why Trump in all of his craziness is still smart to be tweeting directly to everyone...it reduces the amount of "analysis" the media can do on whatever he says because what he says still gets out to (most) everybody, and they just add there nonsense of why we shouldn't believe whatever he says.

I know exactly what AOC has said. There's no full plan right now. If this goes thru Congress, they will probably include all income, not just earned income. I also don't think it'll be 70%. (All shit I've written in this thread)
I also addressed your NFL question. Do you really think the money Kraft makes from the Patriots is significant to his overall income? He didn't start an NFL franchise and become a billionaire. It was the other way around. -
