The majority of the owners don't make a sizable profit from the franchise. Their money is made in their bread and butter, whatever it is that made them wealthy.

They get the income from everything...stadium (where they make a good chunk of their money), licensing, etc. etc. You think they give Robert Kraft a $100MM salary, or do you thing they give him a nominal "salary" and distribute earning via dividends to the shareholders, of which is probably basically him and his family/kids.
