Venezuela had a diverse economy UNTIL the socialists took over and nationalized the oil industry. They had already done this long before Chavez.2001400ex said:

What's interesting is to look and the decline in oil production in Venezuela after they nationalized the oil industry. Yes the drop in the price of oil hurt their economy but it was the irresponsible government spending and the mismanagement of their oil industry that's killed them.UW_Doog_Bot said:
