Stalin moving back into the Kremlin
Stalin has been living in the Woodinville Hampton Inn for the past 61 days. This has been due to water damage to the Kremlin bathroom. If you guys remember, there was a post in November with resident toilet superiority guys chiming in about why contractors weren't able to install a new toilet in the Kremlin.
As it turned out, there was long term water damage and mold beneath the flooring throughout the whole bathroom. Everything was gutted. I moved into the hotel on November 16, and it has been quite a saga through the various stages of the rebuild.
Anyway, the contractors will be finishing up today. Stalin is pleased.

What was the story? Did you hire the Katrina clean up crew from New Orleans or something?
Almost any idiot can remodel the bottom 12 inches of a bathroom in a 4 day weekend.
Even if you needed a new subfloor and joists all the supplies are at the homedespot down the street along with the cheep
illegalundocumented labor.I thought you old fucks were rich enough to have these problems fixed overnight by professionals or had enough acquired knowledge you could fix the problem with a condom, duct tape, bleach, and an old hammer yourself.
Anyway, the first few weeks were hampered by the fact that claims adjuster kept canceling appointments and taking 3-4 days to return my calls. When I finally asked to deal with a supervisor, the supervisor ended up taking over the account. It has been much smoother since then.
I could write a short book of all the things that caused delays, including the holidays. But it's almost over.
As I type these words, the police/sheriff are literally across the hall clearing out a guy who had been staying here but refused to pay.
I also have a nice view of Mount Rainier this morning.
Some 15 years ago, when I was poor traveling a lot, those Hampton Inn egg patties were something to look forward to. Would be disappointed on the random mornings they didn't have it.

We just bought this house in October and in my mind I'm already having nightmares of black mold(which my wife is DEATHLY allergic to) and structural damage. Did I mention the bath right above a load bearing wall?
The father-in-law is ready to tear the wall out and find the source but if it hasn't already become clear, he's not exactly super handy, love the guy, but I don't feel like spreading mold spores all over my house on Christmas Eve.
I left it sealed up as it appeared to be the overflow drain and not a burst pipe, waited until after Xmas and while the wife & child were out of the house to drill a guide hole and insert a probe camera(insert joke here). No mold, no structural damage, Thank you St. Haden. Looks like the original builders never connected the overflow to the drain pipe. Previous owners look like they made the same mistake once and just never used that tub for a bath again(there are 2 in the house). Going to cut an access panel into the wall in the bathroom above and remedy the drain issue here in the next week or two.
