Do I wish Taylor had made a different decision yesterday? Absolutely. I’m really depressed about it, because I think he could have made a real difference.
But I’m an old fuck on a couch. Who doesn’t put my body on the line every day. Who didn’t watch my buddy rupture his Achilles on the eve of the draft.
And because I’m an old fuck, I grew up watching the Dawgs play in Rose Bowls. All my life, I’ve understood how big a deal this game is: To the team, the fans, the entire program.
Nobody under the age of 30, who grew up in Western WA, has any reason to understand the singular importance of this game. And that’s UW’s fault.
