Petros is great and it's a shame that FOX Sports for some reason has downgraded his role as color commentator over the years. 4-5 years ago they had him in the ridiculous "sideline analyst" role (ala Tony Siragusa in the NFL a few years back), and now for the last 3 years they've had him in what seems to be a training role, with a three man booth with new analysts to show them the ropes (A.J. Hawk in 2016, Helfrich last year, and DeMarco Murray this year), and are usually lower-tier games. Yes, his voice is what it is, but he knows his shit, tells it like it is, and calls people out.

People more likely than Clay Helton to be head coach of USC next season:

    Jeff Fisher
    Tee Martin
    Pete Carroll

    Please hire Jeff Fisher.

Those are precisely the problem. Can't get in line with the narratives or get on board with the spin upper management is pushing.

People forget that Petros was a Cal Bear before he was a Trojan. People forget that.

    From his wikipedia! page:

"Papadakis started his college career at the University of California, Berkeley. He left the Cal Fall football training camp, undetected, in the middle of the night and hitchhiked back to Los Angeles after being homesick realizing Cal's too hard after one week."

What’s going on at SC has so many implications for UW over the next 5-10 years

IF SC continues to fuck shit up badly (and there is no indication that they won’t continue to) it only furthers help to strengthen UW’s recruiting position out West

My main concern is whether the Pac12 can survive with the ever increasing percentage of West-Coast kids, predominantly from Southern California leaving to go to other conferences. Bad LA schools means kids won’t go there, but that doesn’t mean the just choose to go to the other Pac12 schools. For the elite recruits it means more and more choosing to leave to other conferences, waters down the conference quality of product which ultimately makes even the top Pac12 teams like us less desirable down the road. This has already been happening for years now, but the decline of LA schools has and will continue to speed this up exponentially. Yes, it will benefit UW in our own recruiting specifically in the short term with the LA schools dicking around in their own incompetence, but is there a longer lasting impact to the conference that would inherently hurt us in the future?
