Oregon in the mix for 5 star QB, #1 Recruit of 2020 class
The Oregon Ducks football program has a long history of success at the quarterback position, producing Norm Van Brocklin, Dan Fouts, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Dennis Dixon, Marcus Mariota, Justin Herbert and many more.
But throughout their storied quarterback history, the Ducks have never signed a five-star prospect at the position.
In the class of 2020, Oregon will hope to change that, as it is heavily in the mix for consensus five-star quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, who is rated the nation's No. 1 overall prospect by Rivals.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound passer, out of St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, California), has made a handful of trips to Eugene in the past few years, but is set for a return this weekend for Oregon's big showdown against Stanford.https://oregonlive.com/recruiting/index.ssf/2018/09/dj_uiagalelei_5-star_qb_and_na.html#incart_river_index

Big Pimpin' Dave will probably take our money for the LOI and then want his kid closer to home in Tuscaloosa, Clemson, or Auburn. Or he'll sell him to MLB.
I get the impression that he is intrigued by the Mariota history but at the end of the day he will go baseball and try football like Kyler Murray of Oklahoma.
Oregon or usc who knows. With usc in disarray and daniels there plus the other qb commit, Oregon appears to be a possible choice.
