The SEC on CBS game of the week, featuring Tennessee's Lady Antebellum vs Alabama's Little Big Town. The stakes couldn't be higher in this battle of two of modern Country's most successful groups.
Lady Antebellum
Winners of 25 major awards and a regular in the nominations for top group annually since breaking onto the scene in 2006, "Lady A" is known for their mixing of vocals from lead singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley. Of their 6 full studio albums released, 5 of the 6 have peaked at #1 on the Country charts (the other only got to #2). 9 of their singles have reached #1 status on the Country charts. And from a touring standpoint, it's a long-term mix of their own headlining and either opening or co-headlining with a who's who of Country music. The accomplishments to date are at a level that few reach for a career ... and it's a career that still has a ton of time to play out.
The yin to Lady A's yang ... Little Big Town are owners of 22 major awards and also a regular in the nominations for top group annually. Taking a slightly different path from Lady A by starting out more independently and away from the Nashville machine, their stock soared after being part of the big Nashville machine with their 2010 release of "The Reason Why" album. From that release, Little Big Town has released 5 albums with 3 of them going #1 and another going #3. Like a fine wine (they have a label based out of Washington), they seem to be getting better with age.
