Round of 32 GameChangers Division: 3) Alan Jackson vs 6) Kenny Rogers

In the primetime matchup in the Round of 32, Alan Jackson takes on Kenny Rogers in what is promising to be a close battle.

Alan Jackson

Whereas Waylon Jennings was called the strongest 3 seed in the history of our music brackets on this shitstorm of a board, I'd argue that Alan Jackson's just as strong of a 3 seed. The only reason he isn't higher is that there are 2 legends seeded ahead of him. 35 number 1's, a comparable number of major awards won, a Hall of Famer in both the Country Music and Songwriter's Hall of Fame. Legend is the bare minimum description for him.

Kenny Rogers

When you talk about Country artists crossing over into the mainstream and being a gamechanger, Kenny Rogers is at, or near, the top of the list. Whether it's being The Gambler, his duets (notably with Dolly Parton), or his crossover to topping not just the Country charts, but also the Billboard Top 100, there's no questioning Kenny's place in music history.
