Oregon has co-offensive coordinators like everyone else these days (stupid trend but I digress). Pretty sure Marcus Arroyo is the playcaller which makes him the actual OC.

That was started by agents and coaches. Co-OC looks better on a resume than Running Back Coach. Assistant Head Coach is another one. None of these titles leads to more responsibility or pay, but it helps with the next job which is priority one to every coach.

But yes, they often do lead to more pay. It's an excuse to give somebody a raise.
