DDY's scout crush Benjamin Solak ranks BBK as the second-best LB in the Pac-12 behind Cameron Smith.
Here's a taste of his evaluation of BBK:
Here's a taste of his evaluation of BBK:
Burr-Kirven gets the nod over Dye because he is significantly more physical a player than Dye is, which allows Burr-Kirven to make more “linebacker” plays. Given height difference (BBK is 6’0, Dye is 6’3) you’d imagine teams will try to add weight to Dye to help him survive at LB, while Burr-Kirven will transition to a box safety role. But, physicality is physicality no matter which was you slice it. And Burr-Kirven is not afraid of 320+ pound linemen. Not in the slightest.
Burr-Kirven has great phone booth athleticism that allows him to win in tight quarters. He has the burst to run down every boundary play and the flexibility to wrap around and underneath linemen who climb to him. He’s not afraid to convert his speed into power and shoot hands against offensive linemen, to create enough displacement to slip through the cracks. He’ll never be a guy to work through over the top of a block, but he can disengage from contact and slip around with excellent frequency. That’s huge.
This internet scout guy sure can evaluate a QB, but I'm not sure he watched enough video of BBK getting washed out on running plays against teams with big and athletic OLs. Yeah I wouldn't read to much of this guys stuff.
He is 19 has no idea what he is talking about 90% of the time.
UW RG Nate Harris is another prospect he likes.

In this one and the Browning write-up, there's so much jargony word-salad that I can't take it seriously.

I have been looking at his draft stuff for a while. He has some takes where I am like "fuck yeah this guy rocks"Bread said:Yeah I wouldn't read to much of this guys stuff.

Then he says BBK and Nick Harris rock and I am like "this dude is completely retarded"
I will say though his draft takes have aged well -
Anyone who disagrees with Solak is a doog!!

He's just watching random clips and throwing out scorching hot takes based on what he sees.

I don't disagree with him on what he says about Harris though. The way he uses his body and leverage in the run game is definitely his strongest side, and makes him a pretty effective run blocker. It's why I think he'll be great as a center. His skillset is perfect for reach blocking as a center on outside zone plays, or pulling on power plays. He also won't have to pass block 1 on 1 very often. He honestly could be really good at center.
He's wrong about BBK though. I mean, he's right that BBK isn't scared to take on linemen. He can't stack and shed though, so it doesn't fucking matter. And he's not athletic enough to be a box safety. -

But I agree with @NorwegianHusky. Center could be a position where Harris could really excel. -
This guy is really accurate. Read his Taylor Rapp one and Myles Gaskin one.
Dismissing him out of hand is fucking stupid. Scouting is not that fucking hard.
Only white people want to believe Jake is good. -
