I think those fall under #2. They continued to recruit both of those guys. Ty Jones was late in the process, so dropping him for someone else wasn't really an option. If Kalepo took visits I think they'd continue to recruit him, but I'm not sure if there would be a guaranteed spot for him if we landed guys like Rhyan and Buelow.HillsboroDuck said:

USC, but that was long enough ago to where we could essentially get him to recommit. We had 3 or 4 OL spots available at the time he did that. It wasn't too much of a risk for him of us filling up. A couple of schools in particular questioned his soon-to-be position coach, Jimmy Lake, and whether he was the right man for Williams' future.
"They were saying that he wasn't going to be there (for all four or five years of his career) or that he wasn't the coach to develop me the right way," Williams said. "I mean, you can say what you want about him possibly moving on to another school as a head coach or something like that, but he can't develop me? Come on. He's sending four guys to the league this year and he's already sent several to the league since he's been there."
Lake has told Williams to be ready to play the same position as Taylor Rapp and he said that fits him perfectly.
"I watched pretty much all of their games this season and everytime they were on defense, I watched how T-Rapp was doing things and Jojo (McIntosh) and I tried to learn and see what they were doing.

When Petersen was hinting at the sleeze seemed to be turned up a notch at the end of the year this recruiting cycle I figured he was mainly talking about usc. All the domers assumed it was about them and who knows. Desperate sleezebags trying to keep their jobs. I mean we know what they were doing to Fautanu and Paama. And pieces of info about Cam and Asa Now and what we could all see the shit they were trying with Latu lol. Can only imagine what we don’t know about. Overall I think the comments in the press conference were intended for Asa, and would sound like the kind of stuff they would have been talking to him in the days before early signing day. Ultimately Pete’s gonna get into this more and more with the type of recruits he’s going after, it’s unaviod. Even if the kid is committed, they’re gonna still be heavily pursued by some top schools and the tactics are gonna be dirtier.
