#16 SoundgardenI don't care about influence. Yes, Nirvana hit it big and saved the world from a decade-long run of Kris Kross. I still would not listen to one song of theirs over Soundgarden. I don't care if you're the original when someone else comes along and does shit (that sounds) a hundred times better than you.

#16 SoundgardenSoundgarden surges into the lead. My faith in this shithole is being slowly restored.

#1 NirvanaNirvana blew it's head off, took itself less seriously, and turned into the Foo fighters.

Nirvana is one of the most important bands in the history of rock. Soundgarden is a really solid band.
Saying Nirvana is overhyped is weird. It’s like saying the Beatles are overhyped. They were truly great for a moment.
Soundgarden was making heavy music because they thought it was kind of funny, stupid and fun. Later they basically started to veer stylistically into Nirv territory.
I’m saying this as a person who knows, likes and respects people in Soundgarden. Everyone in that band knows Nirvana is better and more culturally important.
Alice In Chains is a joke.

#1 NirvanaFor my tastes I put Nirvana above Soundgarden, and I am also going to consider Foo Fighters when voting Nirvana.
