Favorite covers of all tim

Covers mostly suck, but occasionally they kick ass. What are some that stand out to you?

Here's a few of my favorites. Not a comprehensive list.

@AZDuck Johnny Cash Hurt is a great call-out.

Considering the life he lived, can't think of a better song he could have gone out with.

Was coming to poast it. Johnny turned that song into his own really. @AZDuck nailed that & Valerie. That Mark Ronson album has 3-4 great covers. Props also for Kate Nash, lovely bird she is.

Sure as hell don't like this emo shit band My Morning Jacket, nor do I really care for the original song. But this a great version.

1- cross eyed mary by maiden is awesome
2- miserlou and pipeline by agent orange - know steel2 loves agent orange also but they filled a huge gap when metal turned super ghey approx. 1985 until too short born to mack and public enemy yo bum rush the show ruled my world
    3. true colors and message in a bottle by leatherface- leatherface for me was the perfect mix between lemmy style metal and husker du style punk
    4. would - somewhere on the interweb is a version of this song with phil anselmo and AIC. Phil cant sing like layne but he sings this with a passion that I appreciate
    5. when bates has a couple coors lights he also likes to listen to fingerstyle versions of heaven and hell and remember tomorrow by phil jakes and some chick kills the piano version of slayer south of heaven
