I have no problem admitting I went to a UW satellite campus. I'm not a school snob so I don't give a fuck. But he automatically assumed I went to UW Tacoma (which I didn't) and I'm therefore from Tacoma because I'm black. He then uses that to suggest I have lower intelligence. It's obvious racial coding to replace what he really wants to say.
I can take a joke and I have no problem shooting the shit. But when it's clear that the intended target of the joke is not laughing and it keeps getting repeated over and over again to get under my skin, it's not a joke, it's racial coding. -

Tacoma is a shithole but I've never thought of it as having anything to do with race. There are white bread "hoods" all over this state too (heard of Vantucky?), including in Tacoma. I currently live near a small version of one on the east side of the mountains. -

I have no problem admitting I went to a UW satellite campus. I'm not a school snob so I don't give a fuck. But he automatically assumed I went to UW Tacoma (which I didn't) and I'm therefore from Tacoma because I'm black. He then uses that to suggest I have lower intelligence. It's obvious racial coding to replace what he really wants to say.
I can take a joke and I have no problem shooting the shit. But when it's clear that the intended target of the joke is not laughing and it keeps getting repeated over and over again to get under my skin, it's not a joke, it's racial coding.
Tacoma is a shithole but I've never thought of it as having anything to do with race. There are white bread "hoods" all over this state too (heard of Vantucky?), including in Tacoma. I currently live near a small version of one on the east side of the mountains.
