Yo, lets just be honest, the most fertile recruiting grounds in the state, or at least should be, south of downtown, to Lakewood, have shitty, shitty development. Its not a UW thing, its a what the fuck isn't Highline, Mt. Rainier or Evergreen pumping out tons of fucking polys? Or why isn't kent and federal way pumping out kids left and right? Its because football development here sucks. 7on7, love it or hate, is the best thing that can happen to local football. It gets kids out and competing year round and learning pretty quickly that they aren't that special, and if they want that offer, they better work harder. The area needs more of these programs because high school coaches in WA don't get paid enough (ie Texas) to really develop kids.
As for Pete and relationships with coaches in the area, maybe he needs to take a page out of the book of Don James. Went to a UW game years ago and sat next to a ASU fan, who grew up in like Sedro Wooley or someplace like that, and played football at ASU. I asked why he didn't play at UW and he said that he thought he was good enough but never got an offer. What he did get from DJ was a strong recommendation to other coaches in the Pac 10, specifically the ASU coach at the time, who met and offered the guy a scholarship. The dude was a hardcore devil, but expressed eternal respect to UW and DJ for the recommendation and connection. That shit goes a long ways.
Otherwise, UW should be fine, just keep fucking winning, but also agree lets get those scholarships out to sure fire locals a bit sooner. -
AAU style 7on7 needs the reverse rusty grater

In state kids are fucking shitty.
They expect the local school to bend over backwards even if they don't want to go there or the kid isn't a p5 talent.
Fuck them all. I hope we never take a 3 star in state kid again. -
What if it was a recruit that was severely underrated like Dom Hampton was? Bonem anyways?Pitchfork51 said:In state kids are fucking shitty.
