It is cute when the true believers - either one - truly believe, until it isn't.

It isn't. You picked the precisely right word: tedious.

I sit here and I cannot believe that I am surprised by how powerful good rhetoric is as applied to moving the masses, given how much history there is demonstrating that very thing. I know a lot of stupid people who've never had even the slightest intellectual curiosity about anything keeping an eye on politics now. Of course they're too stupid to formulate a thought-provoking view, but they're activated. It's so great.

I'm barely 1/2 century, and the major US political factions are each standing on their heads. Remarkable ... truly remarkable. It's 2018, and a guy who everyone knows was tapping 14 year old girls in poverty-patch USA just barely missed a Senate seat. Barely. Last year he would have won going way, except that the left is now a little (just a little) more organized and a lot more activated. But, again, he barely fucking missed it. He doesn't get close to it after that comes out ... not in my day boy.

The guy in Missouri with the fake Harvard degree ... he'll get elected regardless of who makes his dinner and at what time she serves it.

The union guys are Republicans, and the left wingers are the free traders now.

    Jeebus.

I like to say I can't talk about it. Then proceed to talk about it. That's what I like to do.
