I have been thinking for awhile that UW may just offer Scott either over the summer or once his season starts. His dad poking around on dawgman lately (and being pretty complimentary of Pete) adds to this belief.Doogles said:http://www.espn.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/26863453/buckeyes-add-elite-receiver-fleming-2020
Ohio State just picked up the top WR and #4 overall recruit which clearly knocks Gee Scott Jr. down the totem pole.
Their 2019 class had 3 top 15 WRs including five star Garrett Wilson.
Admittedly not an insider, but if there is any reconciliation between UW and Scott you can't help but feel this opens up the window a little for the hometown team. -
OH SHIT
Wow at both of these developments.
Pete offering Scott is massive, massive news. From a micro we-need-elite-hometown-WR-talent and macro " what kind of kids do we like to recruit?" program perspective. Wow. Super happy about this.
And then Ford firing shots at Smalls...
This is huge news. -
Scott's my number two receiver in the west this year. Would be thrilled to get him.
McMillian
Scott
Wilson
Odunze
Everyone else
Get three of those names and it's the best WR class in school history. -
Scott Sr. pop shots incoming.......

he did?Gladstone said:OH SHIT

i happened to notice this tweet regarding the Gee Scott offer and wondered what was up given the Smalls ranking, though.
-
I like all the OSU fans spazzing out about the offer.
-
Also, interesting timing since both Gee and Adams are visiting tOSU this weekend

No matter what, this is a huge deal. Sr is gonna be bitchy about it but don’t fucking say or egg on anything. This is for pure optics. This is a message to every kid out there upset at us not offering to calm the fuck down and just keep working. Sure it may be a message lost on deaf ears but this is one step. Gee was tied into the DJ Rogers stuff so this is really interesting that Pete didn’t just say fuck it.
It also prolly means the Johnny Wilson told us to fuck off. -
The disrespect is unreal!Neighbor2972 said:

Let's GOOOOOOOO! He's an OKG baby! Stay home Gee! We need more swag and attitude on offense.

Savell no showed FSP and then talked shit about kids in the program. Confirmed.

ugh...why do our fans have to be on Twitter?dnc said: -
This looks like the Rose Bowl tailgate because that white van back there has about 20 of my drunk dollars that I paid for some shitty soggy Mexican hot dog And yes the toilet experience from that is exactly how you would imagine.NEsnake12 said: -
He lied that he was going on a visit to Florida. Didn't go to Florida. Still no showed of course.backthepack said:Savell no showed FSP and then talked shit about kids in the program. Confirmed.

They cooled on Wilson. Too soft. Doesn't play as big as he his and doesn't get separation. Gee Jr is a COMPETITOR and has steadily improved his game and athleticism through hard work! He deserves the spot more than Wilson and we would be better off with him over Wilson.LaMichael_Corleone said:No matter what, this is a huge deal. My assumptions/understanding:
1.) This kid, according to 247FS, is the #2 player in the state, a top-70 player overall in the country, a top-15 receiver in the country, and he's right in UW's backyard. That an offer came this late is not random, "different evaluation," or any of that bullshit. There was something--or somethings--that caused the Washington staff to pass on this kid or he'd have had an offer a year ago.
2.) The lack of offer, justified or not, has stirred up bad blood between UW and Gee and possibly a few other targets. This damage is done and cannot be unseen.
3.) There is a less than 0% chance that he decommits from Ohio State and takes Washington up on their offer.
If all of these things are true, is this offer strategically beneficial? I'm struggling to see the benefit at this point. -
Hello Gee Sr, we know you're reading this.
-
Based on what? His dad wouldn't have been so salty about Gee Jr not getting the offer if it wasn't a coveted offer by both of them. If UW sucked, they wouldn't care.1to392831weretaken said:My assumptions/understanding:

Why would UW offer if they didn't think there was still some interest in a UW offer from Gee Jr? -
I don't accept for a second that #2 is true. This would absolutely help with optics and relationships.1to392831weretaken said:My assumptions/understanding:

Hmm. The last time somebody died on a hill arguing with Ballz about a player committing to UW, that player committed to UW. Should I take one for the team?...StrongArmCobra said:False

I don't take it as good news that Huffman is announcing this rather than Gee Jr or Sr, butt we shall see.
