It's nice to legitimately not care about this either way. I don't feel like Junior or Pete "need" to find a way. The Scotts know the program, we've made the offer. If it works out, great. If not, we move on. Of the five WR we seem to still be considering -- Odunze, Bryant, Gee, Wilson, LVBS -- Gee is #3 at best in order of preference for me.

    He's #2 for me:

    1 Wilson
    2 Scott
    3 Odunze
    4 Bryant
    5 LVBS

But I'd be thrilled with any of the top 3 and happy with any of them.

I don’t think Gee committing to UDUB as a good player has ever been the question. The question has always been with Troy Franklin, Emeka Egbuka, Lonyatta Alexander, Beaux Collins in 2021, this 2020 class being so loaded, and AWFUL numbers management/misses in years past, would we have to pull an offer from a local kid with a vocal dad because we ACTUALLY hit on a high percentage of the elite tier of offers. Pulling scholarships is the worst case scenario in Pete’s mind in order for his actions to truly support him being the most ethically moral coach in CFB.

Skinny has to show he can win games for us this year and evolve an anemic passing offense. Then Gee might actually reconsider.

My assumptions for roster balance are that there are, on average, three receivers on the field at a time (this might even be on the high side with all of the 12 personnel that Petersen employs). Three divides into 25 players (offense, defense, and three specialists) to make the receiver position account for about 12% of your starting lineup.

Doing the math, there are 11 scholarship receivers on the roster, so the receiver position will account for 13% of the scholarship totals in 2019. That's not far off. Three of these will be graduating after the season, and there is every indication that four are going to be coming in to replace them. Racanelli and McMillan are in the boat. Looks like one of Wilson/Scott/Odunze and one of Bryant/LVBS are going to round out the class if they can get one from each group.

So 12 scholarship receivers in '20. That's just over 14% of the scholarship count.

Two guys will be graduating after '20, and once again it looks like a loaded receiver class full of can't-say-no guys. Let's say we all collectively die of acute priapism after the commitments of Egbuka, Franklin, Lonyatta, and a fourth (be it Collins or yet another can't-miss player who isn't even on the radar yet). That means 14 scholarship receivers in '21. That's 16.4% of the scholarship count.

We?'re either an air raid team now or we're going to have to start getting less emotionally attached to at least a few of these stud receivers. We can't have them all even if all of them want to play for UW. This whole thread has turned in the direction of how awesome it would be to get Gee Jr. SOMEBODY's being scratched off of your list if this happens. Probably Rome or Wilson. Possibly a slot receiver in general. Or they just don't feel as good about Egbuka the following year. Etc. Gee, Rome, and Bryant can't all be must-takes. Or else silly roster.

Something has to give here. It's raining stud receivers. They should texture the numbers on the jerseys to reflect this.

    Bumper crop?

This might help, same goes for the wheels falling off at Ohio with Urbs gone. The law of teen boi stalking says it's already too late for season success/failure to matter though.
