I think it would be the funniest thing in the world if one of the losing schools was told in advance and paid off the camera crew to just start packing up their shit halfway through the hat shenanigans, then when the kid and his family stopped and asked what they were doing, they just replied, "Oh, it turns out nobody gives a shit. Bye."
