They were at The Opening in Los Angeles recently and their athletic scores were very bad. https://www.theopening.com/2018-los-angeles-results
Criddell scored a 76.5 and Dollars scored a 74.73.
To put that in perspective, they would be almost 20 points lower than the lowest skill position player at the 2016 Opening (the only full list of results I could find). https://www.theopening.com/2016-to-finals-results
It would put them as the 5th worst performers out of everyone, lumped down there with a bunch of QBs and OL.
Some previous recruits we have signed...
Sean McGrew - 132.06
Salvon Ahmed - 127.5
Elijah Molden - 121.44
Hunter Bryant - 111.96
Doesn't flash lateral quickness or vision to run between the tackles in his film, instead just tries to outrun people on the outside. If you're going to be a "speed" back, you better run faster than a 4.8 40 out of high school.
Criddell had good film though. That's a loss that actually hurts imo.
Thank you for your service.

2 things.
1. Underwear athleticism is different then football athleticism. Is a list with Sean McGraw as #1 really a good example for a good footballer
2. Same for height He might be 5'11" in his underwear but put on his cleats pads and helmet and he is 6'1".
3. David long cancelled his visit to Michigan and visited washington twice.
Doogs never learn -

I doubt it will matter too much because good programs have a culture, but Lake probably won’t be around more than 1-2 years.WilburHooksHands said:

DC of a great defense, he’s put a lot of guys in the league, he’s charismatic, and a great recruiter. Our only hope is that he won’t leave unless he’s the head coach at a big program. Big time schools don’t normally hire DC’s though.
But still... Enjoy him while we can. -
Id say 2 years. There are still football things for him to learn, Penn State exposed his playcalling on 3rd down big time.RoadDawg55 said:

Two years sounds about right. It’s a what have you done lately world though. Nobody will remember Penn State if we win the PAC 12. He’s getting a head coaching job if we do.WilburHooksHands said:

I don’t pin that at all on Lake either. It would have been the same with K. Penn State was good. They lost two games by a total of 4 points, both on the road. That was a team that could have won a game in the playoff.
McSorely might be the best returning QB in the country. Myles Bryant is too small, JoJo and Joyner can’t cover well. Molded and Taylor weren’t ready. And we lacked a pass rush. It was the same in the Stanford game, just Penn State was even better. -
Why was Lake and not K calling plays in the Fiesta Bowl? If true, what from that game inspires confidence?
-
I don't know if it inspires confidence, but I don't take a single data point as that meaningful. Lake was also calling the shots in the game, but it was still Coach K's defense. Meaning he did the install, the gameplans, etc. all season and then Lake got to take it for a spin in the bowl game.Gladstone said:Why was Lake and not K calling plays in the Fiesta Bowl? I suspect Lake might be a shade more aggressive than Kwiatkowski over the full season. I want to believe he will also leverage off the strength of the back end of the defense to scheme some things up to help cover for the defense's lone weak point. I am obviously talking about the pass rush. I think with the DBs we? have, more zone blitzes are in order. But I am just a guy in his sweatpants in his basement. Just kidding...cargo shorts. -

I was there. It was horrendous on 3rd down. Death by papercut.
We were talking hella shit to the child rapists pre game about our DL dominating Barkley and got completely destroyed. -
Whoever was calling plays needs to own that. Bright side he now has experience on a big stage, but he got murdered.
-
In my opinion, I think the defense was a mixed bag that game. It could have been a hell of a lot worse if we weren't +2 on TOs. Two of those TOs were inside our own territory, one of them being in the redzone. We capitalized on only one of the three. It was also debatable whether or not McSorley got picked off inside our own 30-40 in the 3rd quarter. The TD afterwords stung.
500+ yards allowed looks bad, but a lot of those yards didn't lead to anything for PSU. I would blame our mediocre offense and dishing out zero pressure on McSorley. Considering half of McSorley's incompletions were 2 picks and a near pick it's hard to imagine what it would've been like if we had any pass-rush. I guess you could say "What if?" for any game, so it's kind of a moot point. -
Only 1 TO was forced (the amazing Murphy INT), the others were PSU self-inflicted. They also punted a total of 1 time IIRC.
I disagree with you, Eric. -
Eklund now says Lake and Harris are in Cridell's ear to get him to trip to UW before committing
-
Edit: @bananasnblondes you beat me by 8 minutes. Sweet at succinct as usual, while I'm a fucking blowhard as is my typical self.
Chin for you, but I'm keeping my shit below haha.
Oh Ektard......
He starts off strong by saying he heard something new regarding Criddell. According to his sources, Jimmy Lake and Will Harris asked Criddell to hold off on committing this weekend and visit UW one more time before deciding.
He continues going the right way saying that people he's talking to think UW still wants Criddell (as they should) and that somehow the information he had last week about UW backing off could have been wrong.
Then he goes completely off the rails (IMO) by saying other people he talks to think UW is playing games with Oregon and making them work for Criddell even though he's theirs and UW isn't actually wanting him.
He tries to recover by saying he believes it's likely the first and his information could have been wrong, but in line with expectations he goes back to full retard and refuses to just own it:
"That being said, make no mistake, programs play games with each other all the time and an offer will go out to a kid to force one school's hand or they will make offers to kids and not recruit them to make those other coaches work harder. We'll have to wait and see."
A bit later he tries to defend this point by using Trey Davis, "Is this USC trying to force UW's hands so that they offer the local kid to get their attention away from some of the So Cal kids or do they really want him?"
Fucking shit. I'm so fucking glad I found this place. I knew before that DM reports always went back and forth, but I assumed it was the best I can get. Now my god damn eyes are opened, and I want to thank you all for your service.
TL:DR - @bananasnblondes did it better. Just read his. -
