This recruitment has had a lot of turns and twists and there’s still a lot to be settled. Kinda funny seeing how the UW media basically wrote off Savell as not an OKG but they’re happy to see UW in his top six now.

On Sunday, five-star linebacker Sav’ell Smalls posted his top six of Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Tennessee, Washington, and Washington State. It was a pretty big surprise to see Washington back on his list after he publicly eliminated them back in the spring (the week after visiting Oregon) but talking to some people, he circled back with the Huskies recently and is giving the hometown team another shot. What’s surprising is that he eliminated Texas A&M, a team even Save’ll has told reporters would get an official visit just week ago were eliminated.
As of right now, I’d expect FSU and Tennessee to be locks for official visits due to their distance and that likely means that one of the PNW schools will be the odd man out in getting an official visit.
It’ll be interesting to see how this recruitment plays out but as of right now the Ducks are in good shape but I wouldn’t say they are in great shape. For Oregon, I think how the defense performs is going to be critical to what Sav’ell sees in the Ducks. The usage of Kayvon Thibodeaux, DJ Johnson and even Mase Funa will give Smalls a lot knowledge on how he’ll potentially be used at Oregon.
This recruitment is going to go all the way until February and is nowhere near close to finished right now. -
