I don't think anyone is freaking out, I think it's just a really fascinating situation. Obviously if they both come (which I believe the coaches want them both to come) we will have a real competition at QB for post Browning life.HoustonHusky said:My 2 cents...
Why is everyone freaking out? Top programs take 2 qbs all the time.
Im guessing the most likely qb not to show up now is Haener.
If Sirmon is wavering I wonder if it's due to spending to much time with the undertaker.
Wonder how much of this (2qbs) is Lubbick pushing this...this is something Oregon did a lot of (with not a lot of success it should be added, although other schools have)
Wonder if this help for the Idaho DT or Jamillio.
Wouldn't surprise me to see both these guys get 2 years starting will be interesting to see who goes first.
Reality we were looking at with just Sirmon in this class is the following battle in 2019: DBG, Haener, Sirmon, true frosh QB. That's not a championship level competition. (KJCS likely grad transfers).
Now we will look at a competition of: DBG, Haener, Sirmon, Yankoff.
And the Lubick factor is very interesting here. Yankoff got offered shortly after he came on staff. I know Lubick was a big factor in his recuitment at Oregon too.
Lubick has successfully helped recruit both Trey Lowe and Colson Yankoff, plus also managed not to scare off Spiker. About as smooth of a transition as we could've dreamed of. -
