However, the Wolfpack were 16-17 last season and are 14-12 and 3-10 in ACC play this season, with a likely high lottery pick on the roster in Dennis Smith Jr.
Anyone who thought UW has a decent basketball scene should read this and cry. NC state has more balls firing a coach with 4 out the last 6 years in the poast season.

Also doesn't hurt when North Carolina and Duke reside 30-45 minutes away and you're trying to make sure you aren't the red headed stepchild of the Triangle.

But yeah, NC State turned Sendek loose too. Both much more successful tenures than Romar's. -
I heard a wild 4th or 5th hand story that the money is there to arrange something with Romar and make Brandon Roy coach. Although theoretically possible, the possibility seems remote.
