So this is a rough look at what I see from a roster standpoint (see attached GIF). Obviously we're a little over right now in this view as I've got us at 86 scholarships but as @Dennis_DeYoung has said elsewhere there is talk of up to 3 players that are likely leaving for one reason or another (Constantine, Lewis, Kirkland) so we shouldn't have any problem being at or under 85 when we need to be.

The highlighted/shaded players are the players that either are going to see their eligibility exhausted or players that I think could end up leaving early. For 2017, the players that I could see leaving early are Myles Gaskin, Trey Adams and/or Kaleb McGary, Greg Gaines and Vita Vea. Barring any early entries we have 15 seniors on the roster that could be leaving (2 of which are Constantine and Kirkland). Doing the math should put us with a class of about 18 players again ... which seems like the sweet point for us as it is the size of this year's class.

The roster composition may see some changes as players see position switches, etc. (i.e. Austin Joyner being moved from CB to S). But as you start looking out to our 2018 depth chart, the S depth could be very thin ... so I think that this could be a primary focus for us in this year's class.

If I was projecting out this year's class, I would say it will look as follows:

    QB (1) - Jake Sirmon
    RB (1 or 2)
    WR (2 or 3) - Austin Osbourne
    TE (1 or 2)
OL (3 or 4) - guaranteed to lose 2 OL, possible to lose 2 early
DL (2) - likely to lose 2 DL
LB (3 total) - losing 4 including Constantine - already have Jack Sirmon
CB (2 total) - possible we only go after 1 but I would recruit hard here for 1) Jimmy Lake eventually leaving, 2) we have a lot of young talent coming through that could see a lot of early entries in the future leaving us thin
S (2 total) - as mentioned, our depth will get thin here after 2018 as we lose 2 after this year and 2 more in 2018 assuming Rapp leaves after his junior year

The low end of everything gets you to 17 total.

WTF Tequilla, did the TCU MBA teach you to show fucking excel spreadsheets? where the fuck is my PowerPoint? Any decent MBA holder know that pointless PowerPoint is where the sales are done and won lol.

    @Tequilla

I think it is far more likely Isaiah Gilchrist makes the flip to safety (if he hasn't already). As a true-freshman he was already at 200 pounds, and Joyner will be in his 3rd year learning corner, so I feel Gilchrist makes the most sense for a CB to S convert. He played some safety his senior year in HS too, since he wasn't getting much action playing CB. I think some schools that were talking him considering him a safety right off the bat. Either way it probably doesn't make much difference, but that's just my take on it.

    My best guess at numbers...

I think we will take a class of 18-21 (depending on who leaves and what we can get) and it will go something like:

    QB - 1
    Sirmon is a fucking stud.

    RB - 1/2
We might take a kid and Tre'Shaun who could go there as well.

    WR - 2
I doubt we go beyond 2 since we got 3 good ones last year. Osborne's already in, if we get Spiker my guess is we close it down unless there is someone insane who loves us. I like Mike Wilson, but there are lots of good guys available. Super deep year at WR (which we don't really need). Shit year at basically every other position.

    TE - 1/2
I think we go for both Black TE - which will be Culp (HE'S A FUCKING TE YOU FUCKING MORONS I'M LOOKING AT YOU @FKA_Mousecop) - and White TE, but we could possibly skip White TE after taking what amounts to 2 in the last class with Kizer and Otton. However, I bet if Peters looks good this summer we go on him.

    OL - 3
They say they want 3 every year and this is another year where they should get 3; unfortunately it will be a shitty 3 because Jaramillo's going to Oregon, Dedich will end up in California and so with Steven Jones. I hope we offer Marco Brewer relatively soon.

    DT - 2
They could even add another; I think they are content to get 1 per year here, but after not getting a 'ready to go' guy last year I think they try for 2. I will be shocked if we offer JAG Cindric from Skyline. Dude is basic. It's a shit year for DTs and the one we really want (Togiai from Idaho) will end up at SC.

    BUCK/SAM - 2
It's really important to recognize that we only have 'interior' guys and then 'Elephant/BUCK/Edge/WhatTheFuckEver'. They seem to have a soft spot for these guys and they try to take a lot of them. Probably because they can play them on the interior now and then.

    LB - 2
All our LBers are 'inside' guys (we have MIK - middle and WIL - Weak Inside). We could possibly take three, but my best guess is we'd take a kid like Ngata who can do both. Regardless, I think we will probably offer Ben Wilson at some point and we will have the two white LB class that everyone dreams of. I know I do.

    CB - 1/2
After getting 4 kids the past 2 years—Murphy, Love, Molden, Taylor—they won't feel as much of a need; my guess is Gordon and then, if there is a super stud, we might add one.

    S - 2
Because Rapp played as a true frosh and we only got 1 kid last year even though we wanted 2, I think they go a strong 2 at S.

Don't mess around with PowerPoint. Go straight to PowerBi.
