Nick Saban
Then when we flip the field they go 98 yards.
Winners win. He's the gold standard
But I now believe in Petersen.

I am totally sold on Petersen, but I can;t understand how we still have Smiff at OC? What is Petersen seeing that we aren't? I know he isn't fooled by padding the stats against loser programs, and he knows whenever we play truly legit teams we shit the bed. So why no move to get a new OC?RaceBannon said:A great coach knows when he has enough points. It was beautiful to watch him go three and punt the 2nd half because he kept us pinned and we have a retard at quarterback.

He may have needed to get his ass kicked to adjust the offensive philosophy. Peterman that is. Not that far off. We should have been content to run the clock out in the 2nd half after the first down. But we weren't. Winners win as race said.

I normally hate good effort, good job shit, but guys like Nick Harris standing up to Alabama and Kevin King playing hard until the clock hits zero is very unique.RaceBannon said:A great coach knows when he has enough points. We have something brewing. -
As much as I appreciate Browning and how hard he plays and how much effort he puts into studying the film... I can't wait to have a real QB.

Agree. I don't hate Brownsocks even though he pisses me off. It's like I said to @Tequilla in the other thread about Nick Harris....Brownsocks is what he is, and he isn't going to magic arm strength to compete against elite teams. But, he's the best we got evidently so whatever. We clearly need a more game QB with a stronger arm, and for whatever reason, we don't have one. He's the best we got, and with him and Smiff (and to a lesser extent the OL) we have a ceiling - and that ceiling is well under an elite team like Bama, which is what we all saw tonight. I do think a better OC would be able to take better advantage of what Jake IS good at though....and at least give us a chance.PineapplePirate said:As much as I appreciate Browning and how hard he plays and how much effort he puts into studying the film... You never know how you stack up until you go up against the best.
And I will get roasted for this, however, difficult for Browning to be good when the best D in America is kicking his ass.
He does get rattled and after SC I knew he was not what we hoped he was.
My concern is the DC in Oregon, he gave him fits too.
Hopefully Jonathan Smith will go pursue other opportunities.

FWIW, Matt Leinart had a noodle arm. Don't give up on the kid just yet.Swaye said:

Respect Saban for sending those guys to the locker room after the last few scuffles. Surprised that a Saban team would lose composure like that.

Browning is tailor made for Boise. Case closed -
I'll really believe in Petersen when he fires Smith and realizes that a power run game is important.
