The time to can Romar was after his entire team jumped ship 2 years ago. Not only was the coaching obviously horrible, but team chemistry and morale was an absolute mess. When an entire team chooses to go sit out a year so they can leave a program, that's a big fucking red flag on the coach. Doogs bought the whole "cleaning out and restocking the cupboard" and the other bullshit about how Romar was going to make UW cool for Seattle kids again.
With Murray, Thybulle, Chris, etc. committed, they should have started putting feelers out to coaches and started the conversation with, "we have an amazing class of kids coming in. Your first job will be to convince them to stay". There would have been a couple who left, but others would probably stay put.
Where UW is at now is right back where they started when Romar took over the team. Theyve burned through all their Vegas winnings and are flat broke again. Any coach they bring in will likely have to start from scratch. It will likely be a mid-major coach who has had moderate success. Look for the 3rd or 4th place WCC team's coach or a coach who is a few years removed from being fired. -
Brandon Roy - that motherfucker can recruit like no other.
And you might be already aware Foster Sorrell played on his AAU team for several seasons.
