So what's the "normal" punishment for failing a drug test anyways under peterman?

I know it's likely harsher than the dui hi five Sark probably gave ASJ but it can't be more than a game, right?

Seems stupid to quit mid 10-1 season because you might sit out a game. I'm guessing the difference in philosophy thing is code for Gardenhire had some bullshit hippy professor from the international studies department tell him the football team had no right to drug test him and he should refuse it out of principal even if he was going to piss hot.

Maybe....or Peterman is looking for legitimate opportunities to clear out guys who won't start as jr's and sr's so he can build a better recruiting class. Maybe he believes some guys aren't going to or aren't trying to get better each year and his program has some very specific benchmarks that must be met or you fail out. Just sayin', but just speculating.

I'm not of the opinion that Pete directly looks at a player and says that he's going to manage them out ...

That being said, the rules of the team are the rules of the team and if you don't want to play by them then nobody is bigger than the team. That was evident Year 1 in punting Marcus Peters off the team.

Pete has also said on a number of occasions that it is a long season and that his expectation is that everybody has a chance to make a significant contribution. Hell, Gardenhire made one just this past week in creating a special teams turnover.

The timing is bad ... but it is what it is. That may allow for a big fish to be added to the class to replace him.

I've been working on a solution for Gardenhire for the past 24 hours.
    Gardehire needs to quickly:
    1. Claim depression.
    2. Get a medicinal marijuana prescription for the depression.
    3. Apologize to coaches for keepin it real.
    4. If they don't let him back on quickly because of the drugs, sue the NCAA for culturally, racist, disregard for his health and well-being.
