Bama would spend the game with a 7 to 10 point margin with seeming no concern other than the points they leave on the field due to our tuff red zone defense and the rookie Tide QB getting confused on the short field. Throw in some missed field goals and Bama fan has a nagging sense of unease but UW looks retarded on offense so its in the bag.

Then Browning shows up and Brownsocks is benched and the Huskies outscore Bama 21-0 in the 4th quarter to shock the world and bring home our 2nd National Championship

It would be a plunger whether the score reflected it or not.

Bama's defense is the best in college football. They have the only defense worthy of the "elite" label that is so casually thrown around, and their special teams unit is outstanding, maybe even elite. Their offense is overshadowed by their defense and special teams, but it's much better than simply serviceable and they have a "slam dunk first ballot" college hall of fame head coach. Any team can lose a game, but these guys are the least likely to do so regardless of who they play.

UW has a very good football team, but is not elite in any phase. Bama beat aTm 33 - 14, I could see them containing the Huskies offense and scoring enough to win rather easily, say 34 -17.

Define elite. Because the way you are using it makes me think you mean something different from what I would think you mean.

By definition it means the most choice or select, the best. The term is badly abused by college football fans and pundits. Elite teams are rare. Elite programs even rarer.

Okay. So when you use the term elite, do you mean it on a single season stand-alone basis or all time?

My guess (before seeing the early line in this thread) was Bama winning 27-10 or 27-13. If the Huskies actually did play Bama in the semi-finals, it looks like it would be at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. A comfortable bus ride for the Tide while the Huskies would have a 5 1/2 hour flight.

    Bama has better depth too.

I'm going full doog. Why not?

Our D will be faster than anything they've ever seen, and holds them to 10 points and gets 2 interceptions.

Our O will be faster than anything they've ever seen, and hangs 35 on them.

Pete smirks while he says "shucks, I'm just proud of our players and coaches".
