    USC averaged about 18.5 points per game that year. They weren't the best team in the conference.

    Winners win. They beat Washington and both teams finished with one loss.

    USC went to the Rose Bowl because they earned it on the field.

    I know I'm in the minority on this, but at least I'm consistent.
