Last nights win was eerily similar to....

That Seahawk/49er thrashing back in 2012 where the Hawks curb stomped the division bully at home and pisses on their graves. Beat them in every facet of the game. That game was the "we're here" game.

One year later they go on to win the Superb Owl.

Also similar to DJ's "All I saw was purple" win over Marinovich's Trojans in 1990. (UW lost at Colorado the following week.)

Also similar to Seven's grasshopper-defeats-his-master win over Pete's Trojans in 2009. (UW lost at Stanford the following week.)

Also similar to Seven's students-rush-the-field win over Stanford in 2012. (UW lost at Oregon the following week.)

Ask me again in seven days whether the Stanford game means shit.

last nights game was nothing like those two games. This was a thorough ass kicking.

True. But those two wins were held up by many as symbolically important, "turning point" types games. "We're here" moments. With students rushing the field.

Yeah, both Sark's "marquee" wins were games where we needed fuck ups from the other team to win.

I never felt that way. I attended the 2012 Stanford game with a woman named Rachel. As we left CenturyLink she remarked how I didn't seem too thrilled the Huskies had won. I said people would make that game out to be bigger than it was, and all it did was add more years that we'd have to have Drunk Sark as our coach.

Students rush the field over stupid things. Doogs hold up lucky wins as symbolically important.

    WIW.

Last night felt like AISWP. The 2012 49er game is a good comp as well since it felt more like a Carroll coached team than a James one.

    Either way, it was interesting.

Last night's game was different. I knew it when I saw it. It reminded me a lot of 1990 SUC, but in that game "we" only scored seven in the second half. I believe we scored 21 this time around?

2009 USC was a turning point in the sense it proved "we" had some talent and weren't a terrible team - it had just been beaten down and misused by Ty. That's a different kind of turning point.
