"MMQB's Albert Breer believes there's a "realistic possibility" the 49ers put Colin Kaepernick "on ice" for all of the 2016 season.
In doing so, the 49ers would protect themselves from Kaepernick potentially injuring himself, which would then result in Kap unlocking more guaranteed money in his contract if he suffers a severe injury. It would also mean Kaepernick wouldn't dress on game days, which wouldn't allow him to visibly protest anymore National Anthems. The Niners can save $16.9 million against the cap next offseason by designating Kap as a post-June 1 cut. In the "icing" scenario, rookie Jeff Driskel would likely serve as Blaine Gabbert's backup to open the year."

The Syria 49ers vs. the Dubai Chargers
Kaepernick was demanding a trade in the offseason and a locker room had already seemingly embraced Blaine Gabbert as the team’s starting quarterback yet the 49ers let a contract deadline pass that would have allowed them to cut Kaepernick before April 1 and void his $11.9 million base salary for this season.
So the 49ers are fools and so is Kaepernick because he could've kept his mouth shut a little longer and ridden out the 2016 season. Now he's toxic around the NFL and may be playing in the CFL next.
Says he has seen it before since high school. He doesn't know Cap so is speculating but he's Black so its ok
