when two UW players are drafted in the lottery and the team didn't sniff the post season?

Chad fords latest Mock draft is out and has Chriss at 4 and Murray at 10. If you were to put out a poll that said should a coach be fired when they can't make a 68 team tourney with 2 top 13 draft picks the resounding answer from everyone would be 95% in favor.

I'm so thankful that the 5% who wouldn't fire the coach reside in the West side of Washington.

I'd bet a small amount of money Murray won't go in the lottery (get all the screenshots you need tommy!). But still, fire Romar.

All the negative comments from posters like you poison the Recruits and their families. Its hard to put a complete team together with all the venom and hatred cast Coach Romar's way. You don't hear about it but recruits end up going elsewhere. Sark had the same problem - it prevented him from moving beyond the 8 win mark.

Its easy to criticize - try positivity and be part of the solution.

Murray has been a lottery pick ever since he signed with Lebrons agency.

Murray is going to be a better pro than Chriss. Chriss will be decent. Murray is an all star with a shot. He's Shaun Livingston before the knee injury.

I'll take that bet. Give me the guy that can shoot.

Murray has no business being a lottery pick ... definition of a soft draft class

Romar sucks ... he isn't getting fired because the department can't afford more red ink ... water is wet

    Disagree.

Chriss will make noise in the league. Kid's got game, and he's like barely 18.

I think Chriss has a chance to turn into a good player, but he's too much of a Al Farouq Aminu, Tyrus Thomas, Peter Warrick type imo. He has the size, he can really jump, and he can shoot a little bit, but he also broke the record for most fouls by a Pac 12 player though. He doesn't really know what he's doing.

NBA scouts sometimes get too lovestruck on that and hyped on potential because of a guy's athleticism. They ignore the fact that Chriss has no clue about the nuances of the game because he's only played four years. These types every year, and Chriss could be one of those guys, especially when you consider he will go to a shitty team unless he lands in Boston with the #3 pick. The gap between Simmons, Ingram and Chriss is huge.

Murray has the natural hoops IQ to be good, but he needs to get a little bigger and develop a shot. I love his game though. Both have a lot of work to do (like 99% of rookies in the NBA).

He shot 57% from the field and 35% from 3. He could improve it a bit but he has a decent jumper.

While i think most drafts are ridiculous brain fucks that include people drooling over a recruits potential vs his actual production, I do understand that it's part of the job.

In today's fords "buzz" I'll copy a few nuggets without completely plagiarizing someone's paid content.

First Kevin Pelton says the Lakers should take Dragan Bender at No. 2. Now this?

Chriss was at No. 8 on our Big Board for quite a while, and moved up to No. 6 in our latest Big Board. We are currently projecting him to go No. 4 to the Suns in our latest mock draft.

But No. 2? Over Brandon Ingram? Is the hype going overboard?

The rest goes on to compare his ceiling to the likes of kemp(the elder) and shawn merion, neither of which makes any sense. They also say he has the highest ceiling in the draft other than simmons. Another interesting nugget.

Secondly they move on to murray and say "If Dejounte Murray played at North Carolina or Duke, he'd be a top-five pick."

So now Murray is in the realm of being a top 5 pick if he was an east coast guy(or maybe had he been shown in the ncaa tourney).

This section is a bit more comical as ford says he thinks murrays real landing spot resides between 8-17.

Murray will be a steal if he falls out of the top 10

Aminu shot 17.9% from 3 as a frosh, Thomas only attempted one 3 as a frosh and Warrick (assuming you mean Hakim, not the FSU wr/pr) attempted 2 as a frosh (and only 9 his first three seasons in college).

If you can't see Chriss is light years ahead of those three as a shooter you aren't trying.

The foul thing is a real issue, and he might flame out. But those are really bad player comps for him. He brings a serious dimension those guys did not have, and it just so happens to be the most in demand dimension in the NBA right now.

I think it's obvious Romar has been victimized by Poolboy(and Jen's) obsession with the football program, stadium build, and a massive growing budget deficit. We're lucky he gets the recruits he does and should be thankful we have a coach who BLEEDS PURPLE and will NEVER leave

There would be far less of a deficit if more than 2k people attended basketball games.

Not to mention, it doesn't help anyones attendance or bottom line that the reason for all the shitty basketball and football game times had to do with being on TV that nobody has been able to actually get.

    Just well done all around
