and of course when our inexperienced AD in training is officially put in the permanent seat, she'll no doubt be capable of dealing with this kind of situation, right?
It's a good study into why politics are so fucked up in this country. People in power are more concerned with consensus, looking good, and not ruffling any feathers than they are in getting something right or defending the principled option.
You guys think Larry sucks now, wait till 16 team superconferences form (led by SEC and BIG 10) and since we told Texas and Oklahoma thanks but no thanks 3-4 years ago, we will be left trying to spin how great it is the conference brought in Boise St/Byu/San Diego State/Fresno State to have 16 teams (why the rest of America laughs) OR the BIG XII (led by the Longhorns and Sooners) attempt to pull the L.A schools in to fill out their 16.Essentially it's down to this: Three conferences (us, ACC, BIG X11) will fight for the last two spots. Geographically we are fucked. Had Scott used first mover advantage when he had the chance, a conference of 16 that included USC/Oregon/Stanford/OU, along with the blue blood of Texas and what they can be, UCLA and if we could ever get our shit together, would take a back seat to no one.Plus for you b-ball hom's Kansas would have came along for the ride as well. But hey according to Bill Walton, we are "the conference of champions (in sports no one cares about)"

Yes, under the current leadership that's hard to see, but given the geographic and demographic layout of the current College Football environment it's hard to see those schools going to either the SEC or BIG-10 (11, 12, whatever). Sure, of course right now you see the PAC as descendent, but do you really think that Texas would be comfortable submitting to the hegemony of the SEC? After that Oklahoma goes wherever their older bro goes.
