Hooook OL talk

Don't see PC / JS bringing in an expensive FA but maybe Alex Boone (Tom Cable couldn't even dream of punching him and his nastiness out) and / or the Pittsburgh OT coming off an early season ACL tear could be had at the right price:

I like Sweezy's nasty somewhat but he's a liability in pass-pro. I don't want Okung back and Britt mostly sucks.

Even average players would be big improvements over Britt and Sweezy. I bet rookies could be too.

Britt and Sweezy are amazing compared to Gilliam.

Sark was amazing compared to Ty.

Gilliam sucks but nobody's worse than Britt

Condotta seems to think Cable could move Gilliam to LT and put Britt back at RT while putting in Mark Glowinski at LG after he essentially redshirted. I recall Britt having some growing pains at RT but he was putrid at LG in his 2nd NFL season. BC also thinks the Hawks may want to bring back Sweezy (while getting the latter to improve his pass blocking) to bring back 4 of 5 starters (no Okung). Some other team is going to overpay for Okung and he'll continue to miss games.

Hopefully they draft a LT in the first few rounds if they don't get a solid vet in free agency because relying solely on Gilliam is FS.

More on Glowinski's 2015 scouting report:

"Possesses intriguing upside but may be a year away from contributing as he's still rough around the edges after being moved around during his collegiate career."

They better sign at least one good veteran and/or pick some good OL in the draft.

    TL, DR ;)

(today though, the Raiders are planning on signing the LT from the Ravens so maybe the Hoooks bring in Donald Penn on decent a 2 year deal).
