Jesus says to pay your taxes, help the poor, share with your neighbor, don't cast stones at sinners, don't be materialistic, and to love thy neighbor. Among a bunch of other things.
"Government coercion" didn't ever the conversation. But he was clear you should pay taxes that is owed. -

Show me the passage where he says he wants the government to dole out free shit with taxes. I was simply recognizing that you are supposed to follow the law and help the needy. Neither of these things make Jesus a socialist.
The fact of the matter is libs want the government to help people for them because they are hypocrites who won't do it themselves. REAL Christians already help out others on their own time, in addition to following the law and paying taxes. Not many of those in either party.

Come on J, you are smarter than that. The reality is, the amount of money provided for welfare is relatively small in comparison to other things, such as the military. Do you think Jesus would prefer government money going towards the poor or killing Muslims? -
