BUCK requires a lot of pass-rush technique and a relatively sophisticated understanding of defense. I doubt Daniels could get that in a short time.
Also, ultimately, his skill set was probably better suited to play in space. With the way he has been ignored on O, he should've played SS last year potentially.
However, I think our staff wants guys who really 'understand' their positions so I don't know how much of this type of movement we'll see.

He would have been the ideal candidate physically, but that horse is out of the barn for the reasons you mention.
I'm not lobbying for it, as it is obviously too late...but there's another reason to wonder what could've been for Daniels. Look at him in all the Death Row pics. He wants to be a part of it sooo bad.

I don't know why they're wasting him, but they are.
I agree on Daniels. We should have moved him over last year.
What we lack for in experience at BUCK we make up for in bodies. I bet we see 5-6 guys at that spot this season. Psalm, Connor O'brien and Potoae should get the majority of the snaps at the beginning of the season but other guys will rotate in and begin to take over. I think Myles Rice will eventually end up as the starter at that spot with Jordan Pulu and Bryce Sterk backing him up.
I also think that we see the coaches use 1 or 2 of the linebackers pretty heavily in the BUCK role the way Corey Littleton got used last year. Azeem can play that role as he can hold his own against offensive tackles on the edge and is athletic enough to get to the QB. I also think DJ Beavers could emerge as a pass rush threat for us next year.
Basically, unless we have a guy who is utterly dominant at that position the way Kikaha was I think the coaches will rotate guys pretty heavily and change up where the pressure is coming from play to play. I expect a drop off in the sack numbers generated by that position this season but that all the competition will serve us well going forward.

So all of our crappy players are going to work harder than ever this off-season? Why do you hate Sean Constantine?

Then we would have absolutely no one to catch the ball. Our best hope is him playing more of a pass catching receiver split out like ASJ was, and him making up for the fact our receivers are a bunch of pussies who are poorly developed.
Since nobody liked Feeney @ Buck I'll go with whoever Coach puts in there.
I did. I also called for Daniels on D since his freshman year. I think he will have a fairly good senior year at TE though now that Perkins is gone. He should get some of those balls this season.

Depending on how String/Dissly/Potoae do at DE, I can see Mathis being the starting BUCK
